Am/Can Ch Wild Cherry's Eskimo Pie TD

Penguin is the first show dog at Hoiho, arriving in 1998, just 8 months after Chewy. She was the smallest in her litter and started her show career with fairly low expectations, not to mention a first time owner/handler. Going reserve to a 5 point major in only her second show and at only 6 months and 2 weeks of age, hopes were suddenly a bit higher. She had her first major at 10 months, her first group placement at 16 months, and finished her championship one week later with a 5 point major, BOB over specials. She finished third in "Drumhill Points", a CSCA award for bitches, in 1999.

In 2000 Penguin earned her TD and continued showing as a special, with some very nice wins along the way. She was "retired" from the show ring at the 2001 CSCA national specialty after she won the 1st bitch Award of Merit under judge Everett Dean. It was beyond our wildest dreams and we were happy to stop after a such a special award.

Penguin came out of retirement to start on her Canadian title in 2002, but this was delayed by TWO foreign body removal surgeries that year. She was shown at the 2003 CSCA national specialty and once again, she was awarded the 1st bitch Award of Merit by breeder/judge Mr William Ironside (UK). She continued her winning ways a few months later by finishing her Canadian championship.

Penguin was one of about 30 dogs from the US to attend the 2004 Crufts dog show in Birmingham, England. She placed 2nd in the Open Bitch Class.

She is also working on obedience, more advanced tracking (TDX) and may pay a visit to the whelping box in the future.

Penguin is out of Ch Wild Cherry's Star Attraction TD, by Am/Can Ch Clussexx Billy Goat's Gruff. She was whelped on 19 January 1998, bred by Eileen & James Heiple and Leslie Connell, co-owned by Eileen Heiple. View Penguin's pedigree
