Chewy is Kim's first Clumber, coming to live with her in 1997 when he was 3 years old, after becoming an AKC champion and doing a few TV commercials. It was a case of being in the right place at exactly the right time. At that time it was not uncommon to wait one to two years to get a Clumber. Kim waited just six weeks.

In spite of a few health problems (hypothyroidism and allergies) Chewy is going strong at 10 years of age. He earned his TD in 2000 and has two legs towards his CD. His hearing is failing and he will likely not compete further in obedience. Curiously, he can still hear the cookie jar perfectly!

Chewy was named "Best Drooler" at the 2002 CSCA National Specialty, with a fling of 10' 4", under esteemed judge June Pettitt (Wales).
